
December 2008:
Andrew conducts Hansel and Gretel on tour, culminating in the first
public performances at the refurbished Assembly Room at Leeds Grand
Theatre, and works as repetiteur on the world premiere of David Sawer's
Skin Deep at Opera North.
November 2008:
Andrew conducts a new production of Hansel and Gretel for Opera
North, starring Frances Bourne and Claire Wild, and directed by Oliver
Mears.
October 2008:
Andrew wins the Wagner Society's Bayreuth Bursary competition for
repetiteurs.
September 2008:
Andrew works on the music staff and plays continuo for Don Giovanni
at the Royal Opera House, conducted by Sir Charles Mackerras and Antonio
Pappano.
August 2008:
Andrew performs at festivals in Bruges, Cambridge and the Lake District
with Stile Antico, and conducts the Chamber Choir at Dartington
International Summer School.
July 2008: Andrew conducts Act IV of Le nozze di Figaro with
the Orchestra of Opera North at the Royal Opera House, as part of the
Young Artist Summer Concert. The cast includes Krzysztof
Szumanski, Kishani Jayasinghe, Jacques Imbrailo and Anita Watson.
June 2008: Andrew conducts a new production of The Marriage of
Figaro for Iford Arts, and concerts with the Southbank Sinfonia.
May 2008: Andrew assists Mark Elder on Ariadne auf Naxos at
the Royal Opera House, and works as banda conductor for Tosca under
Antonio Pappano.
April 2008: Andrew works on Simon Boccanegra at the
Royal Opera House.
March 2008: Andrew works on the world premiere of Birtwistle's new
opera The Minotaur, conducted by Antonio Pappano at the ROH. Stile
Antico wins the Diapason d'or for the second time, and records its third
disc.
February 2008: Stile Antico's new CD, Heavenly Harmonies, is
released to excellent reviews. Andrew plays in the ROH orchestra for the
new production of Salome.
January 2008: Andrew works on the ROH production of La
Traviata, with a cast including Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann and
Dmitri Hvorostovsky.
