
June 2009: Andrew conducts a new production of The Barber of
Seville for Iford Arts, and appears with Stile Antico for their US
debut concerts.
May 2009: Andrew works as assistant to James MacMillan for
Katie Mitchell's production of his Parthenogenesis at the Royal
Opera's Linbury Studio.
April 2009: Andrew works as assistant to Bruno Campanella for
Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore at the Royal Opera.
March 2009:
Stile Antico performs in the Lebanon, and records its fourth disc, of John
Sheppard's music, for Harmonia Mundi. Andrew continues to work on Katie
Mitchell's production After Dido.
February 2009: Andrew conducts an all-Russian programme with the
Orpheus Sinfonia, and works as assistant conductor on After Dido at
English National Opera.
January 2009: Andrew works as repetiteur on the world premiere
of
Skin Deep,
by David Sawer and Armando Ianucci, at Opera North.
December 2008:
Andrew conducts Hansel and Gretel on tour, culminating in the first
public performances at the refurbished Assembly Room at Leeds Grand
Theatre. The Guardian compares the production favourably with that at the
Royal Opera.
November 2008:
Andrew conducts a new production of Hansel and Gretel for Opera
North, starring Frances Bourne and Claire Wild, and directed by Oliver
Mears.
October 2008:
Andrew wins the Wagner Society's Bayreuth Bursary competition for
repetiteurs.
September 2008:
Andrew works on the music staff and plays continuo for Don Giovanni
at the Royal Opera House, conducted by Sir Charles Mackerras and Antonio
Pappano.
August 2008:
Andrew performs at festivals in Bruges, Cambridge and the Lake District
with Stile Antico, and conducts the Chamber Choir at Dartington
International Summer School.
July 2008: Andrew conducts Act IV of Le nozze di Figaro with
the Orchestra of Opera North at the Royal Opera House, as part of the
Young Artist Summer Concert. The cast includes Krzysztof
Szumanski, Kishani Jayasinghe, Jacques Imbrailo and Anita Watson.
