Dvorak's Jacobin with BBC Singers / BBC SO

Following last season's successful Bartered Bride, Andrew returns to the BBC Singers as chorus-master for a concert performance of Dvorak's opera with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jiri Belohlavek.


February-March 2012

Judith Weir at The Royal Opera

Andrew to The Royal Opera to work as a coach and orchestral pianist on the UK Premiere of Judith Weir's Miss Fortune, first performed at last year's Bregenz festival. The production is conducted by Paul Daniel, and the outstanding cast includes Jacques Imbrailo and Emma Bell.

Andrew produces La nuova musica's latest recording of music by Handel and Vivaldi.

Hidden Voices: The World of Johannes Brahms

Andrew conducts Londinium, one of London's finest chamber choirs, in a programme focusing on Brahms' choral music. Repertoire includes Brahms' exquisite Fünf Gesänge op.104, works by his contemporaries Schumann and Cornelius, and music from his eclectic personal library, by Gabrieli, Eccard, Schütz and others.

St John Passion at Cadogan Hall

A world-class line-up of soloists - Anna Devin, Christopher Ainslie, Andrew Staples, Jacques Imbrailo, and Matthew Rose - joins Andrew as his makes his debut at Cadogan Hall, conducting Kingston Choral Society and London Festival Baroque, led by Catherine Martin.

Romantics Transcribed: NLCC a cappella

Andrew makes his debut with the outstanding New London Chamber Choir, specialists in contemporary repertoire, in the closing concert of the Brandenburg Spring Choral Festival. The programme combines modern classics by Lachenmann and Saariaho with virtuosic transcriptions by Gottwald of German Romantic and French Impressionist masterpieces.

Schumann and Kyburz with BBC Singers

Andrew works as chorus-master to the BBC Singers for their collaboration with Ensemble Intercontemporain and conductor Susanna Mälkki.


May - June 2012

Die Entführung at Iford

Andrew returns to Iford Arts, where he has previously conducted The Marriage of Figaro, The Barber of Seville and La Cenerentola, to conduct Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail with the CHROMA ensemble.

Andrew makes his debut with Bampton Classical Opera, conducting a double-bill of Gretry's L'amant jaloux and Philidor's Blaise le Savetier.

20 - 25 July 2012

French Baroque at Dartington

Andrew returns to Dartington to conduct a fascinating programme of French Baroque music, by Mondonville, De Lalande and Charpentier, in the week-ending concert with the Summer School choir and orchestra.


In addition to these engagements, Andrew is regularly invited to work with singers at the Royal Opera House and at the National Opera Studio.
